From a notorious inn in Chatham. The tankards therefore carry not only local brewing history but also a strong War/Navy connection.

A much loved antique pewter half pint tankard, by James Yates and dating from the 19th century. It has three excise marks including VR, GR & ER and has a baluster form. It measures 9cm high x 8cm in diameter. It has some surface marks / dents and an old soldered repair from age and use, otherwise all in genuine antique condition. This wonderful old tankard has been in use for over a 100 years, this would look great in any interior, or ideal tv / film prop. I will post worldwide by the global shipping program, please check out my overseas postage rates.

This is a baluster shaped pint-sized pewter tankard. The base of the tankard is also misshapen and this does affect the stability of the tankard; when it is placed on a flat surface it does wobble and rock but does not fall over.
