This is the best model of the small pre amp compressor EQ that was released under the Joe Meek brand. I've tried the others and although the EQ is limited here, it's very usable due to good design, whereas the enhancer model that is common on eBay, which preceded this one, really lacks the EQ and the enhancer is of no use. These are great for bass and guitar and the booklet which comes with it has really useful preset drawings for the device, also available online, which helped me learn to use compression in the old days. The device also sounds great for a vintage vocal sound. I find it to be simply a brilliant box. I've owned it from new and regret selling except I'm moving overseas.
