Beautiful old painting from the 19th century, oil on a curved oval porcelain plaque, representing a charming scene animated by two children seated in a landscape, reading a picture book. Charming composition based on Vogel's painting which evokes the different currents of thought in Europe at that time and the questions of learning and the educational method to bring out the individual talent of each child. This subject was painted very often on a porcelain plaque from the KPM factory in Berlin, but as it was sealed we were unable to verify it. It is mounted on a brass surround and green velvet, in a gilded wooden frame (some gaps in the frame). All in good condition, see photos.
