Rims are aluminium with Mavic’s Exalith braking surface. As per Mavic’s instructions I always used Exalith brake pads which must have helped with this. Applying the brakes produces a light whistling sound.

The bad bits first: The original owner didn't keep an eye on his brakes (or was using the wrong drop / caliper) and the pads has worn into the decals on all 4 surfaces! The decals are subsequently worn all the way around the edges and are quite tatty in general. The brakes tracks are worn, please view all the photos for reference. The good bits: All the bearings are good, all orignal spokes, the FHB is good (10 speed), both rims are completely true, come with original Mavic skewers.
