Leach Pottery bud vase standard ware. The brochure for Leach Standard ware 1972-73 shows Bud vases as number 48. It has the St Ives Leach impressed mark as shown together with the ‘ENGLAND’ impressed mark.

The design is known as a horse eye and was inspired by an old seto ware dish. David Leach (1911-2005) for Leach pottery decorative vase. Impressed David Leach and St Ives Leach pottery seals which dates the piece pre 1955 and makes it more collectable and rare.

Though this tankard was made at the Leach pottery and bears the clear mark associated with that pottery started by Bernard Leach it was almost certainly not made by Bernard Leach and was made by one of the many potters who worked there from 1920 through to 1978 when Bernard Leach passed away.
