This is the original letter box from the door of my 1940s LCC council flat; the door was replaced after a break in, but I kept the letterbox.

An antique Arts and Crafts chromium plated brass door knocker/letter box dating from c1900. Very rare in this design and material. It has had paint splatters removed and has been lightly polished. The casting remains crisp. Condition is very good considering its age. It measures 200mm x 65mm maximum. The letter flap opening measures 129mm x 22m. The original bolts and washers are present. The bolts can accommodate a door width of up to 38mm. It has two registration numbers stamped on the reverse but no maker's name. Please study the photos as they form part of the description.
