When my brother saw this he said 'Nice fire screen' and when I first saw it thought it was a shelving unit or Etagere. It was bought from a reputable dealer as a cake stand and although seemed a little large to me haveseen several since similar. Think the reality is it could be used as any of those thing; a versatile piece of kit. Antique I might have stretched the 100 year rule as I would have it circa 90-110. Think the green felt has been added afterwards but seems in keeping with the style. Could easily be stripped and cleaned if you want the real wood instead. Dimensions 85 H 50 W D when open 35 and all cm. Closed takes up a mere 25 cm
