Back in 1967-68, i drove an XK120 drophead at Colgate University I had a Mallory magspark square coil with dual point mallory distributor On winter road trips,I would put a plastic bag around the distributor. One fact you have NEVER heard; a bigger problem, when I drove for hours on the New York thruway, slush would build up in wheel wells. in 200 pound blocks with a groove for the tires. When I reached a rest stop; I could hardly turn the wheel.... They were tough cars not the trailer queens some are today.
