This beautiful map shows the outline of the kingdom of Hungary before the 1920 Treaty of Trianon. I’ve been told that the outer red line is the old kingdom and the inner red line is the new country. The main coat of arms at the top flanked by the angels is the one for Hungary and all the ones round the edge are for various regions. It looks like it is on papyrus but I know nothing about maps so I may be wrong! It maybe paper made to look like papyrus. It was bought as a vintage map and posted to the UK in 1988 and has been stored in the tube ever since. If you want any more photos or have any questions, get in touch.

This large original antique map is from The Royal Atlas of Modern Geography by Alexander Keith Johnston, published by William Blackwood & Son, Edinburgh & London, 1876. This map is hand coloured in outline, printed on one side only and measures 62 cm x 49 cm or 24" x 19".
