Description: From an historic atlas. Map of the spread of people after the deluge. Published by 'Felix Delamarche'. Felix Delamarche (18th c. - 1st half 19th c.) and geographer Charles Dien (1809-1870). The stock was later passed on to Alexandre Delamarche, who revised and reissued several Delamarche publications in the mid-19th century. The firm continued to publish maps and globes until the middle part of the 19th century.

engraving intaglio from 1812 representing an antique map entitled: "Turkey of Asia". Formerly published in a malte-brun atlas and drawn up by Lapie. Borders and geographic limits enhanced with colors. This is a Map of Asian Turkey, including areas that today correspond to parts of Turkey, Syria, Iraq and other countries in the Middle East. The engraving is broken down into a single Map with a decorative cartouche illustrating allegorical figures and architectural elements, probably in reference to the historical civilizations of the mapped region. In 1812, the area covered by the Map was a significant part of the Ottoman Empire. The region was the scene of crucial cultural and commercial exchanges and had been influenced by various civilizations over time. The borders reflect Ottoman admin.
