A rare 7th edition dated 1948 of the guide to Inverness, Strathpeffer and the North of Scotland, published by Ward Lock & Co, whose distinctive red-covered pocket-sized guidebooks were especially popular between the wars. Includes four fold-out maps, one a plan of Inverness and the other three regional plans respectively of Inverness and the Caledonian Canal, North-east Scotland, and the whole area covered by the guidebook. The many advertisements give a flavour of the period, including the relatively new civil aviation services to at least seven Scottish destinations.
