Both are scarce publications. DATE PRINTED : 1785, dated on the map from a plate first published in 1767. Emanuel Bowen (1694 – 8 May 1767) was a Welsh map engraver, who achieved the unique distinction of becoming Royal Mapmaker to both to King George II of Great Britain and Louis XV of France.

Wiltshire by Samuel Lewis printed 1834. Samuel Lewis (active 1825 - 40) was a publisher and map maker working in London during the first half of the 19th Century. He first published 'Topographical Dictionary of England' in 1831 and produced a series of editions up until 1848.

The map was originally produced by Pigot & Co in 1840 for the book 'British Atlas, Counties of England'. This was described as one of the most detailed country atlases of the period. There is also a small picture of Salisbury Cathedral on the map.
