About this item-Essentially consists of an open pipe through which the air enters the intake manifold of the engine.-Its cross section first narrows and then widens again, causing the airflow to increase in speed at the narrowest point.-Below is a throttle valve, a butterfly valve, a rotating disk, which can be turned to the end to hardly restrict the airflow, or to (almost) completely block the airflow.-This valve controls the air flow through the throat of the carburetor and thus the amount of air-fuel mixture delivered by the system, thus regulating the power and speed of the engine.-The fuel passes through a small hole in the narrowest part of the tube and enters the airflow when the pressure is reduced during part-throttle operation.
