Details : AnEnglish oak chest of pegged construction, made around 1640. It has a lovely, unstained surface. All timbers appear to be original and solid, the front legs are made using substantial 3” by 2 1/4” pieces of oak.

Salisbury, England, Circa 1603 - 1625. Featuring a one-piece top with chip-carved ends and moulded front edge, the front finely carved in a nulled and guilloche design taking account of the iron lockplate position, atop scroll-profiled spandrels, the sides descending to V-shaped cut-away supports.
