Its rich two. The chest's robust construction and antique style seamlessly blend functionality with historical elegance. Interior candle box. Applied Celtic designs on both ends, and original star inset motifs (Reminiscent of Jacobean?).

The front rails are decorated with strapwork carving. Later hinges, the staples of the original ring and staple hinges are present, the lock is absent. The interior is clean and the candle box is original.

A particularly nice oak coffer or bedding box, we have had a few of these but the wood grain on this one, the quality of the panels and the handles all make it a really fine example. It’s in good condition and ready to go, the interior still has its storage drawers and candle box lid with wooden hinge intact and working. One leg has had an oak veneer added historically that has peeled off a bit, it doesn’t require anything to fix in my opinion but obviously it could be replaced with a little new veneer or stained to match in.
