This is from the mid 1990's and it's intended to be run off of PCMCIA, but it can be run off of DC power or batteries and play CDs like a normal portable drive. The drive has been tested and plays CDs fine off of battery/DC- I have not tested the PCMCIA adaptor as I do not have a device that can take it.
