The date code 5881K is stamped on the back. Seth Thomas used a date code with the year and a letter representing the month printed in reverse, hence November 1885. The quarter sawn oak case is in very nice condition and features a unique drop-down hinged door to reveal the pendulum bob.

This clock is in a dark walnut woodgrain style Adamantine finish. The "Adamantine" finish, which is a patented laminate finish from the late 1800's, is also quite nice. There are a few minor handing marks/dings and a couple age cracks in the finish, but overall it is a great looking clock.

We have not tried to maintain it in any way. The clock includes the hands (one detached), pendulum, and key. The glass in front is in good condition, as is the face and case.
