This is a striking 1950 Smith’s Art Deco style Bakelite mantle clock. This is a wonderful piece of design, but has unfortunately been converted to a battery operated quartz clock. During the conversion process the inner face with the Smith’s logo has been lost. The outer face is original but someone has written the numbers in biro under the numerals. The hands seem original but the hour hand needs flattening to prevent them clashing as the hands cross over. The clock does keep time. A stunning piece of mid century British design.
