lovely original condition type 14B, the east Indian rosewood (dalbergia latiflora) handles are silky smooth with no repairs to the tote, the iron is slightly later, type 16, but there's plenty left on it, it obviously has a few minor nicks and dings commensurate with it's age, having said that it is rick solid. please see my feedback as a seller for your peace of mind same day dispatch if ordered before 4pm Mon to Sat, and I will always accept returns for any reason.

A Stanley Bailey 4 1/2 wide Smoothing Plane, made in England. Has been disassembled, cleaned and oiled including a wire wheel clean of all small parts. The handles have been stripped back and refinished with stain, oil and shellac. The finish on the body has been touched up. The depth adjuster wheel is either a custom replacement or modification. It feels more "grippy" than the standard, as you would expect. The cutter has good length left and is in good condition, and will benefit from sharpening. The lateral adjuster pin has been replaced with one made of copper at some stage.

A nice original Stanley 78 Type 2 with 6-7-10 patent date. It has a Stanley iron, although no sign of a SW stamp. Needs arms, fence and depth stop and screw. As with all tools, especially sharp ones, only buy this tool if you are trained to use sharp plane irons.
