This is a family heirloom piece, embroidered during the 1940s by my grandmother, during WW2, here in Mumbles, Swansea. The 2 ends, she used blanket stitching, then added a crochet picot edge. She (my nan) machine stitched the selvedge edges using her trusty Singer Sewing machine.
