item has some marks on the top see pictures the item works as far as playing dvd and VHS I've not tested an SD card it was a bit picky when playing some discs especially the ones with the shiny top but I only tried a few dvds it has a remote but not the actual one for this machine although it does seem to work for playback and turning the machine on and off power lead supplied sold as described it does seem to work but had an issue with some dvds but others seemed to play just fine only tested through hdmi I've not tried component or scart etc
