AV repeaters are used to extend various AV signals over longer distances. Repeaters work by receiving input signals from a connected cable and boosting them to allow for long distance transmission, without a drop in quality, to the connected output cable. The Lindy DVI to DisplayPort converter converts signals from a DVI D equipped source into a DisplayPort signal. It supports resolutions up to 1920x1200. This allows the connection of DVI capable devices, such as PC s, notebooks and ultrabooks, to modern DisplayPort displays. Due to its lower power design the converter can typically be powered from a PC s DVI D port, in cases where the power output of the DVI D port is insufficient the integrated USB cable can be connected to a USB port or USB power supply to power the converter. The converter can also be used to add another display to extend the available desktop workspace. It is also ideally suited for travelling due to its compact, lightweight form factor and convenient plug play installation.
