I found the unit to be very versatile and to have excellent sound quality. There's a Lo-Z input for guitar and bass. MIDI in and out on 5-pin DIN. I'm not sure that this thing will work with Mac or iPad any longer, however Roland continue to release Windows drivers for it, right up to Windows 11, so it'll work on a PC desktop/laptop.
