The gilt sterling cover is engraved with a Gothic monogram of the original owner and opens with a push-button clasp. There is noticeable pushing inwards of the silver at the top of the cover of the scent bottle, though the clasp still functions.

Exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver vinaigrette assayed in Birmingham in 1881 and made by the hugely respected Nathaniel Mills. It still has its pad in place (no scent left) - it requires a small pin for the grill hinge - not a big problem an easy fix or it could be just left as is.
