A late 18th or early 19th century gilt metal and carnelian agate panelled vinaigrette. With red carnelian agate panels to lid and base, hinged lid reveals gilt metal grill with pierced decoration, also hinged and compartment with original sponge. Gilt metal mounts and body. In good condition overall with verdigris, wear and marks with surface wear. Some scratches to the agate but no chips or cracks. 2.5cm x 2.5cm x 1.6cm high.

This piece is in good condition with no restoration and is hallmarked on the bottom IEA. The details on the sides is all hand applied with leaves and a date of 1874 on one side and the letters A L & D J and truly showcasing its versatility and historical charm.
