This is a wonderful vintage ice axe in exceptional condition for its age with only a light patina to the steel head. The blades on the adze and the pick are still sharp - I don’t think this has ever been used. It’s a ‘Stubai’ Aschenbrenner ice axe, steel head, wooden shaft, adze, serrated pick. Metal ring around wooden shaft, wrist leash attached. Screw, in wooden shaft, to prevent metal ring coming away from axe. Pointed spike on ferrule. Inscription description Stubai logo and “ORIGINAL ASCHENBRENNER GES.GESCH MADE IN AUSTRIA” stamped on serrated pick. It measures 75cm.
