This is a very old 14 k gold pocket watch made by the American Waltham Co. in Waltham, Massachusetts. Waltham made some of the earliest American watches. This piece was made sometime between 1850 and 1957. This pocket watch has seen some American history! It has beautiful delicate engraving around the case and on both sides. 34mm diameter = 1.5". With the ring, it is 2" tall. It is 10mm deep and weighs 34g. Marked A.W.C. Co. 73485 Engraved inside the back: M.C S. -1897-
