This 19th century tie silk quilt top is a stunning example of the period around 1860 -1890. In excellent condition for its age. Needs minor repairs. For the most part the fabrics pieces are good with a few exceptions of torn or worn pieces. This beauty really belongs displayed on a large wall, but it would look beautiful in any Victorian setting The first photo shows it spread on a queen-sized bed to help you visualize it. This is a substantial hand pieced antique log cabin pattern quilt that that only shows minimal wear. Sleeves were added to it at some point so it could be hung. It’s approximately 88” x 107”. Almost king size. There are a few small tears on the backside but I’d still rate this an 8.5 out of 10 given it’s age. I don’t know the exact age but I I brought it to a nearby antique store and I was given a range of 1890-1920. The stitching is well done but it’s inconsistent in stitch size and evenness. The scraps are mostly cotton and a few seem to have a silky feel. This comes from a smoke free home and is very clean. Please reach out with any questions. Thanks for looking:)
