Up for sale is another Sony VAIO PCGA-CD5 drive, this time it doesn't come with the PCMCIA interface card, hence the lower price. This means I haven't tested it when plugged into a computer (which is why it's listed as parts only) , however I have tried plugging the drive in and inserting a CD and the drive does spin up and try to read the disc, I believe it is able to play audio CDs in this mode but I don't have any to check that. The compatible PCMCIA interface card for this model is the PCGA-PC5, this will allow you to plug it into a computer and use it as a CD drive.
