In excellent antique as shown condition. I have not been able to make it work. I am not sure if it should be left in place when in use but such has been suggested. Inspect the inside floor for the clock, I expect you'll find a small hole where the long end of the pin should be inserted (left and slightly toward the rear panel opening of the clock for reference).

1890 Round rop signed seth thomas shelf clock from 1890. 17" tall, original label inside the case , 6" diameter dial and beautiful flower picture in the bottom panel. other details include wood columns going up the side of the door in the front. There is a brass movement signed by seth thomas, also stamped us America and had an hour striking gong. ( this was on a paper inside the clock, I don't see where it was signed but I could be just looking in the wrong area?)
