Listed is a very rare Stanley no 48 Tongue and Groove plane made in USA in 1876. This is a true type 1 as it has the patent stamped on the sole and not on the side like other early 48 and 49 planes. It says "PATENTED JULY 6 1875". Also, the fence is much thinner than the later planes. The condition is great, there are no cracks in the body or on the beaded rosewood knob, however it only has one of its blades.
